My grandfather’s watch. Its next chapter.
My grandfather’s Elgin pocket watch is now with our watchmaker for its first service in 50 years. The work focuses on repairing the inner workings and the glass while keeping the watch as original as possible.
This is not a complete restoration. Its age and character are part of what makes it special to me. I’m excited to hear it ticking again and expect to have it back in a few weeks. The photographs below show it before service.
